Well, i woke up after a good couple of hours sleep on Sunday (feeling much brighter at first) to the sound of hammering. And no, it wasn't my dad doing yet another modification to the layout of the extension downstairs, it was the sound of Wolves hammering Birmingham in the football! Though all the possession and attacking football was to no avail, we ended up losing 3-2 :( Can someone tell me how exactly we lost that game??? We should have had three or four penalties of which we got one (and missed!) and to get nothing from the game was a sheer travesty of the highest order. So anyway, as predicted, we lost the game, but far from predicted, we somehow stayed in the playoff positions! Just! Next up QPR, and my Uncle Paul has got me a ticket so I'll be cheering the boys on this Saturday aft! We are in dire need of a win! xD
Monday didn't exactly go as planned. My personal failure to get into Manchester on time (due to various unexpected circumstances) resulted in me missing my first ever Anime meet, which I was gutted about. It also meant that I missed out on Catherine's Delights! And her Cyprus delights an all! :*( I did still go over to Peters in meeting to the original plan though, and I met Chris at Lahores for some takeaway at something past seven while we waited for Peter. I then stayed at their's til about half eleven-ish and we enjoyed a variety of console-based shenanigans including Guitar Hero, Quake 3 Arena on Dreamcast and then some Wii Play at the end, before my dad came gave me a lift back home. Earlier on in the night, my mum had had to go into hospital after she fell leaving work, and it turns out she did a Beckham to her foot, and had damaged her Metatarsal! Shes okay though, shes just got crutches and a little time off work cos shes finding it hard walking at the minute!
Last night (Tuesday), I headed over to Bury Met to see Ralph McTell. The travelling party consisted of me, Mum (on crutches!), Dad, Aunty Gill, Grandad (mums dad), Uncle Paul and Aunty Lynn, Uncle Mel, his partner also called Lynn, my cousin Jenny, her friend Stan (who we'd never met before), and my mum and Aunty Gill's friend Julie.
A great performance from old Ralph, personal highlights being 'The Lost Boys', 'Around The Wild Cape Horn', 'Bentley and Craig' and of course the world famous 'Streets of London'. I didn't like the style of some of the songs, but his guitar playing was immense (especially on the mainly instrumental 'Naomi' as I believe it was called) and his voice is just the same as it was thirty or so years ago on record. Unbelievable, and the Bury Met was a great little venue where I'd be happy to visit again. Only downside is no photographs allowed.
I did manage to sneak this one in though! Apologies for the quality but I couldn't use flash! ^^
Oh, and did I mention that I had myself a front row seat?!?!!?!?! I had a great view, but not so great for taking photos undetected! xD hehe. I was also one of the only few young people there in total and I even saw my old science teacher Mr Archer! Its an unusal feeling sitting down at a gig I must admit. A more comfortable one perhaps, but theres less of an atmosphere for sure....but I still enjoyed it
Not the only retro singer/songwriter gig I'm going to this week either! My Uncle's have a spare ticket to see James Taylor at the Blackpool Opera House on Thursday night so naturally I jumped at the chance for a free night out! A nice change of scenery too (and some fresh sea air lol) will hopefully mean a nice chip supper for Lee haha! I doubt the oldies will want a Pleasure Beach trip to be honest...wow, to go to Blackpool and not to the Pleasure Beach, that's imcomprehensable surely :/ lol
A busy week all in all then. Though I decided not to go out tonight in the end. I'll just stay in and watch some more Louis Theroux. It's a great sense of nostalgia being able to watch them all again on the internet after so many years! Every episode is pure entertainment but then most of the people he interviews are insane! The guys a journalistic legend xD
We'll speak soon x

Lee's gone Live Journal! *faint applause*
So here we all are on probably the most uneventful Saturday in April (of any year since the dawn of mankind), and seeing as no-one's online I may as well take some sort of welcome advantage and write this. I probably should be writing my novel instead (Maria's been expecting to be able to publish it for months now and I've stumbled across a major writer's block from day one) but tbh I'm just not in the mood. I feel a little ill, and theres a big bumble bee buzzing round in my head, so apologies to everyone for the rubbishness! xD I will get off this back end soon I promise ;)
I finally got some mail from o2 this morning, but was it anything to do with the interview I attended for a job there over two weeks ago??? Was it hell! Hmm, it's a new SIM card promoting the new Pay As You Go service they're trying to get me on. Now, should I go against every shred of my principles and sign up to aforementioned service, when said company has been so shabby in letting me know whether I've been successful in my application for a job there??? well, go on then...
to be fair it is a pretty good deal *roll eyes: yes / no?*
Here's to an exciting week anyway. Really looking forward to my first ever Anime meet at MMU on Monday night. I hope Catherine and co break me in gently! I only just found out Peter was a staff member there and helps run it, but I've always been interested in going anyway, thanks to Cath for the invite. Chris might be coming along too. I really hope I am feeling better by Monday night! Before that it's the Wolves derby against Birmingham on Sunday. Not optimistic I must admit. We're just about in the playoff spots but I don't think we will be come 5 o'clock. After that, theres only QPR and Leicester to play, lets hope the lads can hit top form and get up there eh?! (P.s - Mick McCarthy is Merlin.)
Then it's a trip to see the old folk singer Ralph McTell at Bury Met on Tues night with family (he's the guy that sang 'Streets of London' for those not in the know), then maybe go out on Wednesday or later in the week in Manchester depending on who wants to go out and where. I've got a feeling Jim might want to drag me along to the LAP gig on Weds actually, I'd forgot about that! Which reminds me, it's his wedding soon, I still need a +1 to take to the party! And speaking of +1's, in other news I have a major crush on a girl *red!* Okay..so far from being a +1 at the moment, but I can always hope! Hmm...*ponders*
Anyway, more on that later. This has been CNN.
